A client once told me that I didn't just capture an image of their children--I captured who they were, their spirits, their light. I believe in order to capture the essence and true personality of any person, you have to have the ability to make them comfortable enough to open up and allow their souls shine through. That's when the magic happens.
As a result of the hours I've spent looking through the lens, I've learned to see people in an entirely different light. I try always to see them for who they are, and for the beauty they bring to the image. It's changed my life and made me a better human being. This realization has been a wonderful and unexpected effect of following my passion for photography. It has opened up my heart to love people more, to want to be a part of their lives, to give of myself more than I ever have.
I have the best time doing what I do. It's the greatest feeling in the world! It can be a lot of hard work but it's all worth it to be able to create and do what I love. There is a great peace in knowing who I strive to be as an artist. Most importantly, I want to be your photographer!

Yep. I’ve got friends, believe it or not! This is my friend Tracy (who is also a photographer at www.memoriesbytracy.com) and her husband and son. We headed out on a perfect fall day to do their family photos. Since Tracy is a photographer too it was no pressure…HA! Carl and Garrett were good sports about us dragging them from location to location. Enjoy!

I know, I know! I haven’t added wardrobe inspiration in forever… This one is focused on family specifically for winter. Although an outdoor winter session can get chilly, bundling up helps ward off Jack Frost and cranky parents too. 
One of my favorite things to do in a baby session is “baby in a bowl.” It just makes me giggle. Elayna was happy as a clam through this whole session. She was happy no matter what bowl we put her in which was just too cute. Gotta love that!
Alyssa and her mom came all the way from Joplin to see me… Ok, so they actually came to do her senior pix, not to just see me. Alyssa was a natural in front of the camera with an easy smile and natural poses. It helped that her mom and I gave her a hard time the whole shoot keeping her laughing…ha! Sorry I couldn’t narrow the photos down – I had so many favorites. We went to several locations and did a lot of wardrobe changes so be prepared for a long post. You were warned!
